On the eve of Telangana Statehood Day, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday extended his greetings to the people of Telangana.
He said that the creation of a new state i.e. Telangana has been possible only because of the sacrifice of the people for this state and it has been created in the same spirit. “Telangana continued to progress and stood as a role model for the country,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that it was a proud moment for every citizen of Telangana which would make them feel happy and remind them of the development achieved by the state in various fields so far.
He said that Telangana has registered qualitative growth in various sectors like agriculture, irrigation, power, education, health etc. The awards and prizes announced by the central government and other national and international agencies are testimony to the development of the state.
Mr Rao said that Telangana State has achieved phenomenal growth in the last 8 years in terms of ensuring the welfare and development of the people by implementing various schemes. He said that Telangana is building the country in terms of industry, infrastructure development, trade and commerce etc.
Shri Rao said that the State Government is providing public welfare centric administration with utmost transparency and economic discipline.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture will organize Telangana Foundation Day celebrations in Delhi on June 2 and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest at the event, officials said on Tuesday.
Telangana was officially formed on 2 June 2014, and this day is celebrated as Telangana Day or Telangana Formation Day.
Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Donor G Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi will also attend the event to be held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, the ministry said. The aim of the event is to highlight the roots of the culture, heritage, architectural grandeur and land of unsung heroes of India’s youngest state, which celebrates its eighth anniversary this year.
