Kangana Ranaut’s tweet on Uniform Civil Code, actress Urfi Javed responds

Kangana Ranaut and Urfi Javed went back and forth on Twitter over Pathan.

New Delhi:

A comment on the blockbuster Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathan sparked a viral back-and-forth on Twitter between actor Kangana Ranaut, and actor and influencer Urfi Javed.

It all started with Kangana Ranaut’s comment on a praise post for Shah Rukh Khan, saying, “Hindus Muslims love SRK equally” and that “India is super secular”.

“Very good analysis..this country has loved only and only all Khans and sometimes only Khans…and obsessing over Muslim actresses so accusing India of hatred and fascism is too much is unfair… there is no country.” Like India all over the world,” wrote Kangana Ranaut commenting on the Bollywood producer’s post.

Urofi Javed reacted to the ‘Manikarnika’ actor’s two-day-old tweet and commented: “Oh my god! What a division this is, Muslim actors, Hindu actors. Art is not divided by religion. Only actors are.”

Kangana Ranaut, who is an open supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reacted to Urofi Javed’s tweet: “Yes my dear Urofi, it would be an ideal world but it is not possible until we have equal citizens There is no code, as long as this nation is divided in the constitution itself, division will remain, let us all together demand Uniform Civil Code from @narendramodi ji in 2024 manifesto.

Back to Oorfi, who tried to take Ms Ranaut’s suggestion lightly. “Uniform wound up being a bad idea ma’am! I’m popular only because of my clothes,” said the Instagram favorite known for her offbeat fashion.

He then followed it up with an “explanation”.

Ms Ranaut, who often posts outrageous and no-filter content on Twitter, had earlier posted similar tweets on Pathan. “I believe that Indian Muslims are patriots and very different from Afghan Pathans… The crux is that India will never be Afghanistan, we all know what is happening in Afghanistan, it is beyond hell there, so Pathans Appropriate name for the film as per the plot Indian Pathan.”

Ms Ranaut recently returned to Twitter after a ban of almost two years. The microblogging website banned her account in May 2021, after she posted controversial content related to the post-poll violence in Bengal.
