Núñez ended relations with former agent Edgardo Lasalvia, who represented the player in the early stages of his professional career at Peñarol, in a rather unpleasant manner and opted to work with Jorge Mendes’ Jestifute agency, which managed his career at Liverpool. Took steps.
Edgardo Lasalvia, the former agent of Darwin Nuñez, has opened up about his split with the Liverpool star, saying the footballer did not handle the situation well at the time of the split. Lasalvia said that karma would get back at Núñez because the footballer did not end the contract amicably. Lasalvia joined hands with Núñez when the player was in the early stages of his professional career, playing for Uruguayan club Peñarol. Lasalvia remained Núñez’s agent until the striker moved his base to Portugal and joined Benfica.

After starting his career in Portuguese club football, Núñez decided to end his tie with Lasalvia and opted to work with Jorge Mendes’s Gestifuente agency. Gestifute brokered a move for Núñez to Liverpool, who signed the 23-year-old forward for a then record fee of £85m. But now Lasalvia has revealed during an interview with El Observador that she did not get a chance to speak with Núñez before the split and this further soured their relationship.
According to Edgardo Lasalvia, he left no stone unturned to talk to Darwin Nunez. “I found out when he arrived at the airport with six bodyguards, but refused to engage in conversation. I had asked a company boy to go look for him,” he said. Tried to communicate through messages but those efforts also went in vain.
“The moment I tried to call Darwin, he messaged me on WhatsApp telling me how much he loved me and would always be my friend. He was about to start a new route with another company so I was being blocked. I wasn’t able to message further,” a frustrated Lasalvia recalled.

However, the agent admitted that “everybody has their own right” to take any decision but they should not forget about karma.
Lastly, Lasalvia revealed his longtime admiration for Darvin Nuñez, saying that the Uruguayan star’s decision to join Gestifute left him “broken”. “As much as I love the kid, it broke me into pieces. But I understand that this is business. Darwin did not join Jorge Mendes, but went with a different agency, the same one that worked with Nicolas Otamendi. Used to,” Lasalvia said.
