Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said that the state is at the forefront of digitization in the agriculture sector and so far 78 lakh farmers have been covered by linking farmers, survey numbers and Aadhaar details.

Stating that the state has already started digitization with Bhoomi software and covered 62 lakh landlords and 16 lakh landless farmers in the software.
“The fruit software is now being emulated by other states. This software is being improved regularly. The date has taken the ‘Swamitva’ scheme of the central government as a campaign.”
Bommai said that with the help of digital technology, farmers themselves are surveying their land and 212 crore plots have been digitized so far.
Farmers are conducting crop surveys on their own and out of a total of 212 crore agricultural plots, 16,584 crops have been surveyed.
“To avoid any complications, steps are taken to conduct self-survey of all farmers. So far, he has done it very honestly. Natural farming is a long-standing project and research and certification are very important.”
