Violent incidents have taken place at three places during voting in Karnataka. Police said that people broke some EVMs and VVPAT machines in Basavana Bage Wadi taluk of Vijayapura district. They also harm the perception of the polling officials.

Election officers assaulted, accused of arresting 22 people all the time in Ballot Unity
During the ongoing polling for the assembly elections in Karnataka on Wednesday, residents of Masabinal village in Vijayapura district manhandled an official after stopping a vehicle carrying an Electronic Voting Machine (e-Display) and destroyed the control and ballot units, leading to 23 People have been arrested. The Election Commission gave this information. In a statement, the commission said that one section officer’s vehicle carrying reservation for the assembly elections on a daily basis was stopped by two control and ballot units and three VVP (Voter Verifiable Paper Trail) units.

Coastal Udupi district recorded the highest voter turnout of 47.79 per cent, while Greater Bangalore Metropolitan Constituency Area (part of Bengaluru city) reported the lowest voter turnout of 29.41 per cent till 1 pm, according to Election Commission officials.
