A pre-election survey conducted by Kannada media outlet Edina showed a clear victory for the Congress party in the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections, defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The pre-poll survey was shared by Swaraj India’s Yogendra Yadav and BJP leaders termed it as bogus polling.

According to pre-election predictions, Congress Will be poised for a comfortable majority in the 2018 assembly elections with 134–140 seats out of 80, while BJP will get 57–65 out of 104 seats in the previous elections. This would be a 10 per cent vote lead by the Congress BJP, it is estimated Congress will get 43 per cent vote share while BJP will get 33 per cent votes.
Talking about region-wise seats, the pre-poll mega survey also showed that the Congress is leading Hyderabad Karnataka (31-37 seats), Mumbai Karnataka (40-46 seats), South Karnataka (26-32 seats) and Bangalore (16-37 seats). 16) will win. 20 seats). BJP’s response to the pre-election survey
Retweeting Yadav’s post, the BJP rejected the findings of a pre-poll survey for the upcoming Karnataka elections and called it a mock poll.
Attacking Yogendra Yadav, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar termed him and the pre-poll survey as fake polls and fake politicians.
BJP’s national secretary BL Santosh called it a ‘cooked’ survey. In a tweet, he wrote, “It is really surprising that he (Yogendra Yadav) in between his padyatras and agitations takes out time to cook surveys to please his bosses…!!!”

Congress has been one of the main players in the politics of Karnataka and has formed its government in the state several times. In 2008, the party suffered a major defeat, winning only 80 of the 224 assembly seats. But in 2013 it made a comeback and won a majority by winning 122 seats. In the last election, it won 80 seats and formed a coalition government with JD(S) which fell in 2019. Currently, it is the main opposition party in the state.
The Karnataka assembly elections 2023 are scheduled to be held on May 10, while the counting of votes will take place on May 13. The election will be held to elect the 224-member assembly. This time, a close contest is expected between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, with the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) playing the role of the potential kingmaker.
