In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Karnataka government has issued a new set of guidelines for international travelers arriving in the state.

According to the notification issued on October 25, passengers arriving from countries including the UK, South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand and Zimbabwe will have to follow additional measures upon arrival in India, including post-arrival testing. .

As per the new guidelines, all passengers planning to travel to Karnataka will have to submit a self-declaration form on the online air facility portal before the scheduled journey.

“They have to upload a negative RT-PCR COVID test report on the portal within 72 hours from the journey. Each passenger should also submit a declaration regarding the authenticity of the test report. Lastly, they should provide the same before their journey. An undertaking through the respective airlines on the portal or to the Ministry of Civil Aviation that they will follow the decision of the appropriate government to undergo home-quarantine/self-health monitoring,” the notification said.

The state government asked the concerned airlines/agencies to provide do’s and don’ts list to the passengers along with the ticket and directed them to allow boarding only those passengers who have filled the self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal. And uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report

It further instructs airport authorities to advise passengers to download Aarogya Setu on their phones.

“If any passenger reports symptoms of COVID-19 during the flight, he/she will be put in isolation as per protocol,” the circular said.

The government asked airlines employees to follow all COVID-19 related guidelines, the government said, adding that in case of any person undergoing screening, the airport authorities should isolate the person and medical facility as per protocol. should be carried in. “Their contacts should also be identified as per protocol,” the circular said.

As per the guidelines, if a fully vaccinated person is traveling from a country that accepts WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines as well as India, they should be allowed to leave the airport and stay for two weeks. Will be allowed to undergo self-monitoring.

In case of partial or no vaccination, they will have to submit a negative RT-PCR report, undergo mandatory home quarantine for a week and test again on the eighth day. If negative, they are advised to undergo further self-monitoring for seven days.

“Passengers under home quarantine or self-health surveillance, if they develop signs and symptoms of COVID-I9 or test positive for COVID-19 on re-test, shall immediately self-isolate and be taken to the nearest health facility. Will report or call. National Helpline Number (1075) / State Helpline Number,” the circular added.

International travelers through ports/land ports will also have to follow the same protocol except that no online registration is available and a self-declaration form must be given to the concerned sea ports/land ports authorities of the Government of India.
