Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan has warned that strict action will be taken against registrars of public universities who make excuses for not implementing the Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS).
He said that if the system is not implemented, the concerned registrars will be relieved of their duty.
After holding a meeting with the vice-chancellors of all public universities at Vikas Soudha on Thursday, he said that the vice-chancellors should submit a report about the registrars who have failed to implement the UUCMS.
UUCMS, a technology based platform, will allow universities to function efficiently with less human resource and limited expenditure. This is the solution for the day. So no one should make excuse for not implementing it.
“In order to know the lapses in the implementation of UUCMS, videoconferencing was being done regularly. Any problem in the system can be brought to the notice of the department,” the minister said.
Regarding the examinations, he said, the semester examinations have been completed, but the results have been declared in only a few universities. Though several universities had completed the examinations, evaluation was pending. He directed that the entire process should be completed within this month.
