India Kawasaki Motor has released the teaser for the Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition on its social media handle. Kawasaki Z650RS was launched in India last year and this model is a retro-styled version of the naked Z650. As the name suggests, the 50th Anniversary Edition edition commemorates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Kawasaki Z1, which forms the basis of the Japanese manufacturer’s new ‘Z’ RS range. The 50th anniversary edition of the Z650RS will come with cosmetic upgrades and will arrive in the country a few days after its global debut.

Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition gets ‘Firecracker Red’ dual-tone paint scheme

The Kawasaki Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition will get a new ‘Firecracker Red’ dual-tone paint scheme bringing bold red and black colors to the bike. The colors are complemented by gold-plated alloy wheels and 70s-styled DOHC side panel badges. Note that the Emerald Green shade already comes with gold-finished alloy wheels on the standard version. This will be the third paint scheme on the Z650RS other than Metallic Moonlight Grey. The Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition will however be available in limited numbers.

On the mechanical side, the Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition will continue with the same specifications. It is powered by a 649 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 67.3 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 6,700 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The standard Kawasaki Z650RS is priced at ₹6.72 lakh (ex-showroom), but you can expect the 50th anniversary edition to be priced at a slight premium. The new version is expected to arrive by the end of this month or by early February 2022.
