Vijay KarnatakaKEA Executive Director Ramya S said the new dress code is aimed at bringing more accountability and transparency in the examination process.
Full-sleeved shirts, head and ear covers, watches, jewellery, modern electronic devices and pencils are not allowed.
“There are concerns over watches being declined. We have asked all the centers to install clocks so that there is no inconvenience. Also, students are advised to know the bell timings, which will give them an idea of how much progress they have made in their exams,” she said.
“Don’t bring valuables. If you do this you will have to leave them with their parents. When you leave the bag outside, write down your name and your parents’ phone number. That way, we can track them down, even if someone takes your bag by mistake,” she said.
Separate rooms will be provided for sick students.
“If a student comes in a full-sleeved shirt, the center will either ask him to fold it or the exam center will offer a replacement t-shirt. But it is not recommended, especially in times of covid,” Ramya said.
Students must reach at least one hour before the exam to complete the preliminary formalities like frisking.
Water bottles should be transparent without any stickers or writing. Students must bring a photo identity card and hall ticket. Only 2-3 ball points are allowed. No pencil or ink-pen will be allowed.
Students have to be careful while writing the alpha-numerical version code. Name, CET number and signature will also have to be mentioned. There will be a duplicate copy of the OMR sheet for the students to take home.
Former PRO of KEA Ravi AS explained about the counseling process, option entry, choice entry and seat-surrender process after CET.
The results are expected by July 17.
