Karnataka CET Document Verification process has started from today 23rd August. However, Bengaluru-based CET candidates complained that they had to wait for a long time to submit their documents, as the block education officers (BEOs). According to media reports, there was a shortage of scanners and BEOs were struggling to deal with the process.
Talking to the media, “Scanners are not available for all BEO officers and the authority is arranging it gradually. Also, the process is very new to us and we are understanding it gradually.”
The first session with candidates between rank 1 and rank 1800 was to begin from 9:30 am to 11:00 pm, while for rank 1801-3600 the second session was scheduled from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm. it was done. This year, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is responsible for the administration of this verification process for all the Bengaluru candidates.
Speaking about the incident, a KEA official admitted the mistake: “KEA should have called only 2000 students today, but the number of students present today is 5000. This is delaying the document verification process. In addition, many The students are from Basavanagudi and KR Puram, which is delaying the verification of the students of that area.”
Parents are also complaining about the mess. Prakash J, a resident of Yelahanka, told The Indian Express, “Instead of calling all the candidates from Bengaluru at one place, the KEA could have handed over the document verification at the respective BEO offices in Bengaluru.” He said that as a parent his stress and anxiety increased during this time.
Students will have to surrender their class 10, 11, and 12 or 2 PUC mark sheets for the CET document verification process. The last date for this process is 7th September.
