Kerala man alleges police urinated near house, thrashed him when he protested

Police said a case has been registered on Saturday and the accused have been arrested.

A man was allegedly thrashed by some policemen for objecting to urinating outside the walls of his house near Kilimanoor here.

While the victim has alleged that the police did not act on her complaint, delayed various procedures like recording her statement, and repeatedly tried to resolve the matter, an official of the Kilimanoor police station said that the incident took place. The FIR was lodged on Saturday afternoon itself. And the accused were also arrested.

Refusing to give details of the FIR or the sections under which the accused were booked, the officer said they were released on station bail after their arrests were registered.

According to the victim-complainant, the accused are posted at Changanassery police station in Kottayam district of Kerala and were on their way to a meeting of the police association at the time of the incident.

The complainant told a TV channel that when he resisted to urinate outside the boundary wall of the accused’s house, they hit him on both sides of the head and also injured his hand.

Thereafter, they left in the vehicle which he followed and removed its keys, the complainant said. Thereafter, the accused beat him up again to take back the keys, he claimed.

When she filed a complaint at Kilimanoor police station, they delayed the procedures as police personnel were involved, the complainant alleged and said that he would take it forward due to the injuries caused to her and the damage to her reputation. ,

The man said that he is getting repeated calls to resolve the matter.
