Khan: Pakistan responsible for US shortcomings in Afghanistan: Imran Khan – Times of India

Pakistan: America made mistakes Afghanistan And Pakistan Was blamed for America’s failures and not credited for the sacrifices made in the global war on terrorism, Prime Minister Imran KHAN Said on Monday.
Addressing the inaugural session of the Margalla Dialogue 2021 seminar in Islamabad organized by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) think-tank, Khan said Pakistan suffered the biggest collateral damage in the Afghan war.
“Pakistan was held responsible for the shortcomings of the United States,” he said.
Khan said Pakistan suffered the biggest collateral damage in the Afghan war as it was the only US ally to suffer more than 80,000 casualties, millions of people displaced and over $100 billion in economic losses.
Khan said Pakistan was blamed by the international community for wrong reasons, while it remained silent on the Kashmir issue. He regretted that Pakistan could not present its point effectively to the world.
Noting that military might alone was not a guarantee of national security, which was a broad concept, Khan insisted that, “You cannot have national security unless there is inclusive growth.”
“The unequal distribution of resources creates anarchy among those who are deprived of mainstream development. Upliftment of the underprivileged section of the society was important to ensure national security across the board.”
He also emphasized that the rule of law and equality for all were pre-conditions for democracy.
“Corruption, especially of the elite, was detrimental to the development of the country,” he said.
Khan emphasized research to promote original thinking within a society and said the lack of in-depth research led to a reliance on outdated information by Western think tanks on important issues such as Afghanistan.
he also talked about Islamophobia and urged for a stronger response by Muslim think tanks to neutralize the concept that Islam and terrorism are linked.
Afghanistan has been Taliban Regime since 15 August when an Afghan hardline terrorist group ousted the presidential elected government Ashraf Ghani And forced him to flee the country and seek refuge in the United Arab Emirates.
