Kiran Mazumdar’s husband John Shaw dies at the age of 73

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw’s husband John Shaw passed away at the age of 73. Informing on his social media handle, he wrote an emotional note in which he said that he lost his mentor and soul mate.

John Shaw died on 24 October in a private hospital. He had worked as Vice-Chairman and Non-Executive Director in the Bengaluru-headquartered biopharmaceutical company for more than 22 years.

“I am devastated to lose my husband, my mentor and soul mate. I will always be guided spiritually by John as I pursue my purpose. Peace in peace my dear John. What makes my life so special Thank you for that. I will miss you deeply,” Mazumdar-Shah wrote. He married her in the year 1998.

John Shaw, a Scotsman and Indophile, headed Madura Coats, a major textile multinational company, as chairman and managing director before joining Biocon in 1999.

“He has made a major contribution in the transformation of Biocon from a small enzyme company to a globally recognized biopharmaceutical company and has been instrumental in ensuring the highest levels of corporate governance in the company as well as in the financial and strategic growth of the Group, The company said.

The company also shared the details of their prayer meet.
