Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested from the three T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka starting February 24 in Lucknow.
All India Senior Selection Committee chairman Chetan Sharma said on Saturday that the two will miss the third T20I against West Indies here on Sunday.
Kohli and Pant will return for the two Tests against Sri Lanka in Mohali (March 4-8) and Bengaluru (March 12-16).
“We have already sent them (Kohli and Pant) home so that they can get some more time to rest. This was done on the advice of the medical staff,” Chetan said.
Chetan said all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been rested for the entire home series against Sri Lanka but is available for the third T20I here on Sunday.
