Jaipur: Four people died COVID-19 In the state on Tuesday, six and a half months after the death of four people was reported in the desert state on June 27 last year.
One death each has been reported from Jaipur. Ajmer, alawadi and Nagaur, taking the total toll to 8,978. The state also reported 6,366 fresh infections, taking the total to 9,88,638. Active cases in the state increased from 25,088 to 30,597. Jaipur reported 2,166 covid cases, taking its active cases from 12,238 to 14,006 in 24 hours.
Those who died due to Kovid on Tuesday had different comorbidities and were already undergoing treatment in hospitals. One of them had cancer, the other had gastro-intestinal problems, the third had cardiac problems and the last was fatal, chronic lung disease.
Nagaur’s Chief Medical Health Officer (CMHO) Dr MR Mahia said, “A 61-year-old man who died due to Covid was already admitted to AIIMS, Jodhpur for cardiac problems since January 8.”
The person who died in Ajmer was a 74-year-old man. Ajmer CMHO Dr KK Soni said, “He had liver cirrhosis, which was being treated at a private hospital.” The deceased was a resident of Jaipur Triveni Nagar. “He was a 39-year-old man who was undergoing treatment for stomach ache for the past one month.
‘The deceased was suffering from cancer’
He complained of bad color of urine. He tested positive but died in the private hospital,” said Dr. Narottam Sharma, CMHO, Jaipur. The Alwar man who died of the virus had cancer.
Alwar CMHO Dr OP Meena said, “The 62-year-old man had cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy and severe anemia due to cancer. He was admitted to SMS Hospital on January 4, but died today.”
Apart from Jaipur with 2,166 cases, Jodhpur recorded 2,166 new infections, followed by Kota (446), Alwar (411), Udaipur (403), Bharatpur (365), Bikaner (225), Sikar (192), Sawai Madhopur (114). , Sriganganagar (112) and Dausa (101), the remaining districts together reported 1,831 cases in 24 hours. In Jaipur, new cases were reported from 96 areas.
Of these, Vaishali Nagar had the highest number of 98, followed by Pratap Nagar (93), Jawahar Nagar (91) and Jhotwara (90) in 24 hours.
In two days after the state government started giving booster doses, more than one lakh (1,04,353) healthcare and frontline workers received booster doses. Some 30,805 elderly people with comorbidities also received a booster dose within 24 hours.
