Krish Pal, Ravi Saini reach semi-finals of Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championships

India’s Krish Pal (46kg) and Ravi Saini (48kg) registered opposite victories to enter the semi-finals of the 2022 ASBC Asian Youth and Junior Boxing Championships in Amman, Jordan on Sunday.

Krish, who hails from Chandigarh, will take on Robert Jamero of the Philippines in the quarterfinals. He worked hard in the first round and took some time to judge his opponent.

But in the last two rounds, Krish completely dominated his opponent with his relentless and precise punches and won the match 4-1.

Ravi displayed scintillating courage and tactical acumen against Thailand’s Efichit Chamdi in a match that was tough and aggressive from the start.

The two boxers exchanged full punches and refused to back down, but the Indian boxer fired more punches to secure the result in his favor and secure a 3–2 victory.

Later tonight, four more junior Indian male boxers – Lovepreet Singh (50kg), Jayant Dagar (54kg), Chetan (57kg) and Yashvardhan Singh (60kg) – will play their quarterfinal bouts.

Earlier on Saturday night, Renu (52kg), Prachi (57kg) and Raveena (63kg) entered the youth women’s semi-finals after comfortable victories in their respective last eight matches.
