Officials from the Karnataka Labour Department in Bengaluru paid a visit to the Infosys campus in Mysuru on Thursday and sought information from the company, which recently laid off more than 300 of its trainees.
Additional Labour Commissioner (Industrial Relations), G. Manjunath, said the visit was in connection with the reports of layoffs and they would study and assess the information provided by the company before reaching any conclusions.
“Relevant information and documents have been collected from Infosys and it has to be analysed. We visited the software company’s offices in Bengaluru as well as Mysuru,” Mr. Manjunath added.
The Infosys, on its part, stated last week that it had laid off over 300 freshers who could not clear internal assessments after three attempts.
