Lalbaugcha Raja Visarjan 2022: As the 10-day festival ends on September 9, 2022, devotees take part in a huge procession of Lord Ganesha’s immersion. On Anant Chaturdashi, the huge idol of Ganesha will be taken from the pandal for water aka immersion after two years. Let’s have a look at some pictures from the immersion ceremony of the 14 feet tall Ganesh idol.
After 10 days of festivities, the day has come when the devotees have to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha. Participating in the procession, the devotees shower the idol with flowers, gulal and sweets and also chant their songs. Reportedly, the 95-year-old Mumbaicha Raja of Ganesh Gali first leaves the pandal for immersion, followed by Lalbaugcha Raja who is immersed at 6 am.
The members of the mandala use a unique technique called hydraulic system to immerse the idol, which is an electrically powered raft in the form of a small vessel, with a small portion in the center of the idol of Lord Ganesha. This takes the idol to the deep sea.
