Lamborghini Huracan Technica will be introduced

The Lamborghini Huracan Technica – unveiled globally in April this year – will be launched in India on August 25. The Huracan Technica slots in between the standard Huracan Evo and the track-focused STO variant, both of which are already on sale in the Indian market.

The Huracan Tecnica is making its way to India just five months after its global unveiling, a remarkable feat for such a high-end supercar. In fact, Lamborghini confirms that customer orders are already arriving.

Having recently delivered the 200th unit of Urus, the carmaker has been quite successful in India. “The Urus is driving sales of the company’s super-sports cars, which may explain the immediate interest in the Technica,” says Sharad Agarwal, head of Lamborghini India.

The mechanical underpinnings remain the same as the STO – the 640hp, 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine only sends power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. However, it gives up on the wild aerodynamics package and weight-saving regime of the more hardcore STO.

Instead, the Huracan Tecnica draws its design inspiration from the Cian hybrid hypercar, which in turn is based on the Aventador. The front and rear fascia get the same angular bodywork as the Cyan; There is a more prominent diffuser at the rear than the Evo, and it also gets a fixed rear spoiler.

It gets rear-wheel steering as standard with a carbon-fibre bonnet and carbon-ceramic brakes. As for outright performance, 0-100kph is claimed in 3.2sec, 200kph comes in 9.1sec, and has a top speed of 325kph.

As a direct competitor to the Porsche 911 GT3, Lamborghini says that driver participation is the most important element in the character of the Tecnica, with truly approachable on-the-limits handling priority.

In terms of pricing, the Huracan Tecnica will be placed below the Huracan STO, which was launched in India earlier this year for ₹4.99 crore (ex-showroom).
