When Shyamala received a video call from her husband Lance Naik Sai Teja at around 8 am on Wednesday, she had no idea that she would be speaking to him for the last time.

The 27-year-old man from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh has a 5-year-old son Mokshagana and 3-year-old daughter Darshini – both too young to realize the magnitude of the tragedy in their lives.
Lance Naik Sai Teja last came home three months back during Ganesh Chaturthi. His mother Bhuvneshwari had reportedly encouraged both her sons to join the army. His younger brother Mahesh is serving in the army in Sikkim.

Born in Kantevaripalli village of Chittoor, Lance Naik Sai Teja joined the Indian Army in 2013 in the Bengaluru Regiment.
After serving for a year in the Army, he once again took the departmental examination and was posted as Lance Naik in 11 Para (Special Forces). He served in the Bangalore Army Training Camp and was later commissioned into General Rawat’s Personal Security Wing, He got married in 2016.
Lance Naik Sai Teja had joined the Army in 2013.
People from different parts of Chittoor district are expressing their grief and condolences to the family members.
B Sukumar, the niece of Lance Naik Sai Teja, while talking to news agency ANI said that the family is in shock after learning about the accident that happened in the afternoon.
Ms Sukumar said the last rites of Lance Nayak would be performed as per Hindu rituals in his village.
