Lata Mangeshkar will stay in ICU for a few more days: Doctor

Renowned singer Lata Mangeshkar will remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a few more days, her doctor said on Sunday. The 92-year-old singer was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital last week and is still undergoing treatment. The Bharat Ratna recipient is suffering from coronavirus as well as pneumonia. She was tested positive for Covid-1 last week with mild symptoms.

Dr Pratima Samdani, who is treating the veteran singer, said that “Lata ji is still there”. ICUTherefore, he is still kept under doctor’s supervision in the ICU.”

“Lata ji will be under doctor’s supervision for a few more days, it is difficult to say how long it will last. No one is allowed to meet.”

According to Shah, mangeshkaro She was admitted to the ICU as she required “continuous care” because of her age.

Regarded as one of the greatest singers of Indian cinema, Mangeshkar began his career in 1942 at the age of 13 and has over 30,000 songs to his name in several Indian languages.

In his career spanning over seven decades, he has sung many memorable songs like “Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh”, “Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya”, “Neela Asman So Gaya” and “Tere Liye”.

Known as the Nightingale of India, the singer has been bestowed with several awards and accolades including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards and several National Film Awards.
