inquiry, its conclusion

There is every possibility that the damaging revelations of the Justice Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry are likely to lead to further investigation (page 1, October 19).

There is a possibility that the whole incident may have a political color as well. Furious debates are bound to take over the public discourse.

The findings of the Justice Arumughaswamy Commission of Inquiry are shocking.

Instead of closing, the report has apparently opened another Pandora’s box.

It is a matter of relief that the report of the Justice Arumugaswamy Commission of Inquiry has been tabled in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. With the indictment of prominent personalities, the ball is now in the court of Tamil Nadu government. One wonders what the next course of action will be? Will there be any further investigation?

The article, “Hindus are not Kafirs, Muslims are not Jihadis” (‘Rai’ page, October 19), throws light on the true meaning of ‘Kafir’. Non-Muslims should take this word positively. The article should pave the way for a strong bridge between people of different religions with Islam, and in turn build a strong India.

pyrotechnics, relevance

The crackers in the market contain potassium nitrate, carbon and sulphur, which release toxic oxides. The presence of suspended particles in the air increases during Diwali, which reduces visibility and is very suffocating. In addition, the noise of firecrackers, beyond the threshold of human tolerance, harms young, old, sick and pets.

No one can buy the logic of children wielding firecrackers now, as the younger generation has more awareness about the serious dangers of firecrackers.
