ayurvedic doctor
While I sympathize with what the author presented, I do believe that there are opportunities for Ayurvedic practitioners to flourish (Editorial page, March 6). Ayurveda is famous for recognizing the need to maintain positive health. Ayurvedic practitioners with a focus on the “healthy man’s diet” are likely to be able to differentiate themselves and provide value.
There should be modern versions of rejuvenation programmes.

Knowledge in any discipline is developed through new and updated research, active learning, and the application of this knowledge to good professional practice.
In the case of traditional knowledge systems like Ayurveda, efforts should be made to harness new knowledge. The age-old belief that Ayurveda is an eternally perfect science may be causing harm.

air passenger behavior
Was nauseous reading reports about yet another case of extremely disgusting behavior by air travelers (page 1, “Indian man pees on co-passenger on New York-Delhi flight”, March 6). Such heinous incidents are happening one after the other, it shows that the Ministry of Aviation has neither learned any lesson nor made any system to avoid recurrence of such heinous incidents. The safety, security and welfare of passengers and crew must be guaranteed. People don’t ask CBI or ED or IT to act. A detailed and proper inquiry should have been done immediately. The government should understand that this type of lapse will also tarnish the image of the country.

Reading such reports fills my heart with utter despair and hopelessness. Will airlines take steps to assure passengers that their seats are clean and not urine-soaked or stained? Your soul shivers even thinking about such a dirty seat.
