Both the teams lost their last match, Kolkata Knight Riders losing in a close encounter against Punjab Kings, while Sunrisers Hyderabad saw a 6-wicket defeat against Chennai Super Kings where MS Dhoni’s last ball six made headlines. They both suffered batting failures as their middle order hasn’t done much since the season resumed in the UAE. KKR captain Eoin Morgan has had a poor run with the ball so far this season, while SRH dropped their former captain David Warner and included England opener Jason Roy, who played well against Rajasthan Royals. Exhibited. This is an essential game for KKR considering the playoff scenario. Sunrisers have nothing to lose as they are already out of the tournament but they will keep an eye on individual performances ahead of the mega auction next year.
