UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has been given a 90 per cent shot at succeeding former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as head of the UK Conservative Party and prime minister, a report said.

As the race to become Britain’s next prime minister enters the final stages, UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has given former Prime Minister Boris Johnson a 90 percent status to succeed UK Conservative Party chief and prime minister has gone. Betting exchange firm Smarkets.
Former finance minister Rishi Sunak and Truss are competing in a six-week tour around Britain for the votes of some 175,000 Tory Party members.
Smarket said Sunak’s chances of becoming prime minister have come down to 10 per cent.
“When the race first narrowed to the last two, Truss was rated a 60-40 favorite to win, but the odds are moving in his favor,” said Matthew Shadick, head of political markets at Smarkets. Bloomberg. “Many were predicting that Rishi Sunak would be a better campaigner, but Truss’s debate performance beat expectations.”
Although Sunak previously admitted that he was weak in the race to become Britain’s next prime minister, he vowed to fight for every vote.
After Johnson was forced to announce his resignation on 7 July amid waves of scandal, party lawmakers reduced the competition to a truce and cynicism from 11 candidates. The results will be declared on 5th September.
Truss was seen as the strongest performer in the debate on BBC television earlier this week, according to a poll of 507 Tory party members, Bloomberg reports.
