LML Electric aims to raise Rs 500 cr, electric bike India launch in 2023 – Times of India

lml ,Lohia Machines Limited) is set to make a comeback in the Indian market next year as an EV firm called LML Electric, LML’s new owner, SG Corporate Mobility, has announced that it will launch its first electric bike in India in the second half of 2023. In addition, the company is planning to raise Rs 500 crore to set up its manufacturing plant across the country.
In conversation with TOI Auto, Yogesh BhatiaThe CEO of LML Electric revealed that the new manufacturing facility will be operational in 2024. Until that time, the company will produce its vehicles at the former Harley-Davidson manufacturing plant in Baval, Haryana, Presently, LML Electric has a production capacity of 2,00,000 units per year at this plant.
LML Electric will launch three products in the Indian market including an electric bike, an e-hyperbike and an electric scooter. The first launch was a German-spec . There will be an e-hyperbike with pedal-assist and different specifications than Aerokit,
We expect the e-hyperbike to offer a range of up to 120 km on a single charge with pedal assist and a top speed of around 90 km. The deliveries of the LML e-Hyperbike will start from January 2023. During the same time, the company will begin deliveries of its e-bike or e-cycle, followed by deliveries of the LML electric scooter from August 2023.
During the discussion, Yogesh Bhatia told TOI Auto that it will not work in the low-speed EV segment. Further, he added, “We will offer premium products with unique and smart features, but at a price that will make our customers happy. Recently, LML has partnered with Sara Electric Auto, The company had acquired Harley-Davidson’s manufacturing facility in Bawal, Haryana earlier this year.
