While we struggle to manage our daily expenses, a teenager in London brought with her savings a flat worth just £400,000 (about Rs 3.69 crore). 18-year-old Valentina Haddom started saving money at the age of just 13. He deposited £22,000 (about Rs 20 lakh) for his house last year and protected himself against rising mortgage rates by locking in a five-year fixed rate.
According to Mirror, he used the ‘help to buy scheme’ to buy a two-bedroom flat in Abbey Wood, southeast London, in January this year. The scheme allowed first-time buyers to borrow 40% of the total cost of capital, interest-free for five years.

Speaking to the news outlet, Valentina said, “I am very happy – being very young, it was my dream to have my own place.” She told that when she turned 13 she started saving by writing romance and action comics online. Then at the age of 16 she worked part-time at McDonald’s and later moved to Primark. Even though she was still in school, she still managed to do these things.
“I started getting revenue from a comic called Madness, so I sent this money to my mother to save up for me. I was too young to have an account at the time. I saved about £5,000 from comic writing. Me It was not difficult to work during the holidays, ”said the young man.
Valentina further said that she was able to increase her savings by making significant investments in various technology and food companies.
She revealed that it was her saving talents that shifted her mindset from studying dentistry to business. Valentina said that it was her mother who initially helped her save and invest in the right things. “When I got the flat they were both very proud and they took me out for dinner to celebrate which was great,” she said.
Valentina thanked her parents for being extremely supportive throughout the journey.
