Netizens Are Divided Over Device
Many social media users laugh at the device and its capabilities to share intimate experiences that were impossible over the internet. Although some people are calling it ‘obscene’ and ‘scary’. In addition, they worry whether minors will misuse the device.
How does this work?
The device is a simple one with protruding lips. Users need to download the device and plug the device in. The partner has to do the same work. After pairing with their partner in the app, couples can start a video call and send each other replicas of their smooch.
The invention has been patented by the Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, according to China’s official Global Times.
“At my university, I was in a long distance relationship with my girlfriend, so we only contacted each other via phone. That’s where the inspiration for this device originated,” Jiang Zhongli, the design’s lead inventor, was quoted as saying by the Global Times.
