Days after calling on the opposition to unite to uproot the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is scheduled to meet his Maharashtra counterpart Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday. The TRS leader will also meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in Mumbai that day.
Rao, also known as KCRTRS sources told PTI on Saturday that he will meet Shiv Sena president Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai at 1 pm and have lunch with him. Sources said that after meeting Thackeray, Rao will visit Pawar’s residence and discuss national political issues. Rao will return to Hyderabad in the evening.

The Chief Minister of Maharashtra called Rao on Wednesday and invited him to Mumbai, said a press release by the Telangana CMO. It said Thackeray declared his full support to Rao’s fight against the alleged anti-people policies of the BJP and to uphold the federal spirit.
Appreciating Rao’s efforts, Thackeray had said that the former had raised voice at the right time to save the country from divisive forces. Former prime minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president HD Deve Gowda called Rao for the last time on Tuesday and extended his support to the latter’s fight.
Rao had told Gowda that he would go to Bangalore and meet him on the issue. Rao, who has been critical of the BJP and its central government on several issues, said on February 13 that he would soon hold meetings with his Maharashtra and West Bengal counterparts Uddhav Thackeray and Mamata Banerjee. Efforts to unite various political parties against the saffron party and the NDA government.
