Congress President Sonia Gandhi is awaiting written reports on the crisis from Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken, who were recently sent to Jaipur as observers for the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting.
Observers who met legislators in the state termed the action of 82 MLAs in the state as “indiscipline”, setting the conditions for the party leadership to appoint Ashok Gehlot’s successor.
Gandhi had on Monday sought a written report from observers on the uprising in Rajasthan as the chances of Ashok Gehlot becoming the party chief dwindled and other names surfaced for the post.
