Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit made our hearts race when her upcoming film was announced on Amazon Prime India’s 5th anniversary. Madhuri, who is called Maaja Maa, will not work with anyone else but with Anand Tiwari. What got us more excited was that she will be sharing the screen with Gajraj Rao. Now, news is coming that the actress will play a lesbian character in the film.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Madhuri Dixit will play a lesbian character. A source reveals, “How her sexual orientation leads to conflict, madness and loads of entertainment as she gears up for her son’s wedding is the crux of the film.”
The source added, “It goes without saying that the gay element is obviously handled sensitively, barring any sort of title. Madhuri Dixit’s character in Mama Maa is handled with sensitivity. Hence her Like the star agreed to sign for such an out-of-the-box part.”
In her last release, Netflix’s The Fame Game, Madhuri Dixit played an actress whose son, played by Lakshvir Saran, was portrayed as a homosexual character. Many felt that his character in Dedh Ishqiya could be homosexual. However, whether the reports are true or not has not been confirmed.
Maaja Maa also stars Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Srivastava, Malhar Thakar, Sheeba Chadha, Rajit Kapoor and Simone Singh. It will be directed by Anand Tiwari, who has previously directed films like Love Per Square Foot and the popular web series Bandish Bandits.
