‘Maggie Case’: Divorced after husband’s complaint, wife makes instant noodles for everyone to eat

Recently a curious “maggie case” has come to the fore, where a couple’s wedding was in soup over instant noodle. According to a report in The New Indian Express, a man sought divorce from his wife after finding out that she could not cook anything other than Maggi and prepared it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mysore Principal District and Sessions Court Judge ML Raghunath shared an anecdote from the time he was the District Judge in Ballari. He was speaking on cases where couples seek divorce for petty reasons.

Raghunath dubbed it the “Maggie case”, recounting how the man complained that the woman would go to the provision store and buy only Maggi. The two got divorced by mutual consent, shared Raghunath. He also talked about the recent “huge increase” in divorce cases.

“Divorce cases are increasing rapidly in the last few years. Couples have to live together for at least a year before getting a divorce,” The New Indian Express quoted him as saying. He also described how courts use emotions to help couples through compromise and reunification. Helps resolve differences. For the most part, the issues are more psychological than physical.

Cooking is a basic life skill that everyone should know how to perform for themselves. However, not everyone got the memo. A Telangana man was recently detained after his wife dialed 100 six times to complain that she was not cooking mutton curry. According to Telangana Today, Naveen of Cherla Gouraram village of Kanagal mandal was drunk on the phone call.

The police ignored him after the first call, but when he called again five times, the police decided to teach Naveen a lesson not to misuse ‘dial 100’. A case of nuisance was registered and the caller was taken into custody and later released with a warning.

Telangana Today reports that Naveen consumed alcohol, then bought mutton and asked his wife to cook it. When the wife saw his state of intoxication, she refused to cook. Angered by her refusal, the man dialed 100 six times to file a complaint against his wife.
