The Thackeray faction has 15 MLAs and six Lok Sabha members. Before the split in June this year, Shiv Sena had 18 Lok Sabha MPs from Maharashtra and one from Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Shiv Sena Lok Sabha member Kripal Tumane on Wednesday claimed that two MPs and five MLAs of the Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray will join the group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at the Dussehra rally in the evening. The two MPs could be from Mumbai and Marathwada region, Tumane, who is part of the Shinde group, told a news channel. “See you in the evening,” he said.
Tumane, MP from Ramtek in Maharashtra, said that those who follow the ideology of Shinde faction are themselves joining it by calling. Presently the Shinde faction consists of 40 MLAs including CM and 12 Lok Sabha members.

The insurgent group led by Shinde will hold a Dussehra rally at the MMRDA ground in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on Wednesday evening. The Thackeray faction will hold its rally at the historic Shivaji Park in central Mumbai’s Dadar, which has been associated with the Shiv Sena since its inception in 1966.
Shinde and 39 other Shiv Sena MLAs rebelled against the party leadership in June, following which the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government fell. On June 30, Shinde took oath as chief minister and BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as deputy chief minister.
