The board has also announced the dates for “out of turn” examinations between March 31 and April 18 to conduct practical, internal or oral examinations for students who are unable to take the examinations on earlier dates for any reason. Huh.
“Usually, the board charges an additional fee for an out-of-turn exam, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has decided not to charge any additional fee,” the official said.
The SSC exam will be conducted from March 15 to April 4, while the practical or oral exam will be conducted from February 25 to March 3, it was said.
He said that the out-of-turn examination will be conducted from April 5 to April 22.
According to the board officials, so far 16,25,311 students have applied for SSC exam, while 14,72,562 have applied for HSC.
“Usually, students are allotted fixed examination centres. However, this year the examination centers will be in their own schools or junior colleges, so that they can feel comfortable,” the official said.
He said that the board has also decided to give 15 minutes extra for exam paper carrying 40-60 marks and 30 minutes extra for exam paper carrying marks between 70 and 100. This will be applicable for both SSC and HSC.
“Every center will have a separate room and medical staff will be available if a student is unwell,” he said.
The board has also increased the number of examination centers to avoid overcrowding, the official said.
“A maximum of 25 students will be accommodated in a class. There used to be 5,042 centers for SSC exams and now we have increased it to 21,341. Earlier, there were 2,943 HSC exam centres, but now they have been increased to 9,613.” the officer added.
