The state health department on Saturday said 194 more people across Maharashtra tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the highest in a day since March 25.
On March 25, the state reported 272 coronavirus infections.
With this, the cumulative Covid tally in Maharashtra 78,76,697 has been reached. Apart from this, one more death has taken the death toll from the disease to 1,47,832. The death of Kovid-19 was reported from Pune city alone.
Out of the total, Mumbai reported 72 cases, the highest in a day in the state. The Mumbai circle, which includes Mumbai and neighboring cities and districts, reported 92 cases, followed by the Pune circle with 81 infections.
With 141 patients being discharged during the day, the number of recoveries in Maharashtra rose to 77,27,996, with a recovery rate of 98.11%.
There are 869 active cases left in the state and the positivity rate has reached 9.84 percent.
Meanwhile, with 26,694 more tests conducted in the last 24 hours, Maharashtra’s total number of tests since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020 crossed the 8 crore mark and reached 8,00,19,353.
