Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik today said he has received a letter from an unidentified Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official alleging that several people have been booked in false cases by the anti-drug agency. has been implicated.
Maharashtra’s Minority Affairs Minister said that he is sending a letter to NCB Director General SN Pradhan to include it in the agency’s investigation in the cruise drug bust case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
Malik said, “I have received a letter from an unnamed official of NCB. I am sending this letter to the Director General of Narcotics requesting him to include this letter in the investigation being done on Sameer Wankhede of NCB. We demand That it should be investigated.”
“My fight is not against agency. I am fighting injustice. I am only exposing one officer who got job fraudulently. Wankhede used fake birth certificate to get NCB job. He in Thane Illegally tapping the phones of some people and Mumbai,” alleged Malik.
Malik also claimed that Wankhede had sought the call detail record (CDR) of his family member from the police. Wankhede, in his affidavit submitted to a Mumbai court on Monday, claimed that he is “under threat of arrest as it does not suit certain vested interests to conduct an honest and fair investigation”. The officer had also claimed that he was being personally targeted by a well-known political figure (Malik).
Malik said the letter he received referred to 26 cases alleging that Sameer Wankhede “did not follow proper rules during the investigation of the case”.
Meanwhile, Wankhede has said that all the allegations are false.
Mutha Ashok Jain, Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau in Mumbai told ANI, “I have seen the letter. We will take necessary action.”
Earlier today in a series of tweets, Malik said that he has “received an envelope from an unidentified NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) officer”, adding that he will reveal the details soon. “Envelope of letter received by me from an unnamed NCB officer. Contents of which I will release on Twitter soon. (sic),” his tweet read.
Malik had earlier shared Wankhede’s birth certificate on Twitter, saying, “Sameer Dawood Wankhede’s fraud started from here.” Wankhede then said that he would fight Malik legally.
