The Maharashtra government is all set to reopen cinema halls from October 22. However, the state government has issued standard operating procedure (SOP) for cinema halls, auditoriums and drama theaters as the Covid-19 pandemic persists. The state government has allowed cinema halls, theaters and auditoriums to operate at 50% capacity.
Maharashtra: List of SOPs for Cinema Halls:
- Cinemas, theaters and multiplexes cannot exceed 50% of the total capacity
- COVID-19 Safety protocols with adequate social distancing should be ensured in the hall. Sanitizers should be available in halls, toilets and other places
- Showtimes of cinemas will have to be ‘staggered’
- The sale of only packaged food and beverages will be allowed. But you will not be able to take food items inside the screening auditorium.
- Cinema halls will remain closed in the Containment Zone
- Thermal test will be mandatory at the time of admission
- The air conditioning in cinema halls should be set at a temperature between 24 to 30 °C and a humidity level between 40 and 70%.
- Spitting should not be allowed anywhere in the premises
- Viewers should be vaccinated against Covid-19 or should show their health status as safe on Aarogya Setu app
- It will be mandatory for people going to cinema halls to wear masks
With the Maharashtra government allowing the reopening of cinemas, many Bollywood The filmmakers are gearing up for a fast release to make up for the lost time. Apart from Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi, John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2 will release on 26 November, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui on 10 December. Shahid Kapoor’s sports drama Jersey will release on December 31. While the much-awaited sports drama 83 is slated for the Christmas weekend.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is slated for January 6, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha will arrive in February next year.
Sooryavanshi will compete with Marvel’s Superhero Eternal and Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe at the box office on Diwali.
Last week, the Maharashtra government reopened religious places in view of Navratri, Durga Puja and Dussehra festivals. The state has also resumed physical classes this month. Physical classes from class 8th to 12th have resumed till now. Maharashtra’s Kovid-19 cases have been declining for the last few days. On Tuesday, 2,069 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the state and 43 people died. The recovery rate in Maharashtra is 97.36%, while the death rate is 2.12%. The number of coronavirus tests conducted so far in the state rose to 6,04,20,515.
Among Maharashtra’s eight regions, Mumbai region recorded the highest number of 758 new COVID-19 cases, followed by Pune region with 668 cases. Nashik region reported 375 new cases, Kolhapur 145, Latur 73, Aurangabad 38 and Akola and Nagpur region six new cases.
