Major highway closed in Uttarakhand due to landslide details here

The Gangotri Highway (NH-94) near Sukhi Top area was closed for vehicular traffic due to landslides following heavy rains in Uttarkashi district on Tuesday, due to which it was blocked at many places. But it was blocked. because of places landslide Debris.

Earlier, the Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway was opened for light vehicular movement on August 28, a day after a part of it collapsed near Fakot in Tehri district.

Shivalik Puneet Jain, acting chief engineer of the Border Roads Organisation’s project, said, “NH-94 has been opened for light vehicles only after repairs near Phakot. However, it will take a few days to restore it completely.”

The Rishikesh-Gangotri highway (NH-94) was closed for vehicular movement from Narendra Nagar to Chamba on Friday as a major part of it was broken after heavy rains in Phakot and debris from landslides at several places. It was blocked.

Meanwhile, Kharar-Shimla National Highway number 205 was blocked due to landslide at Ghandal in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district on Monday, a disaster management official said. Himachal’s Director of Disaster Management Sudesh Kumar Mokhta said that vehicular movement on NH 205 has been disrupted due to landslide near Judicial Academy, Ghandal. He said that the traffic has been diverted towards Ghanhatti-Nalhatti-Kali Hatti road.
