Make 2022 a COVID-free year, says Bommai

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday launched a vaccination drive for children in the age group of 15-18 in the city and said, “Let us resolve to make 2022 a healthy and COVID-free year. Let us fight in a joint war to end this virus.” Tease.”

Mr Bommai, who launched the campaign at Bhairaveshwara High School and PU College in Bengaluru, said the state successfully dealt with the earlier waves of COVID-19 under the leadership of former chief minister BS Yediyurappa.

The Chief Minister said that his effective measures to provide medicines, beds and oxygen supply have enabled Karnataka to become a safe state.

“Our government has taken several measures to protect against COVID-19. As a result, the situation in the state is better than others. We need to improve scientific temper, people’s participation and health infrastructure. Our government is working carefully,” he said.

The Department of Health and Family Welfare is fully prepared to face this challenge. Medical infrastructure has been strengthened. Measures like strict surveillance in border areas, mandatory RT-PCR test reports, double dose vaccination for those entering the state, contact tracing of patients have been implemented. “Care is being taken to ensure that the containment measures do not affect the economy,” Mr Bommai said.
