Malayalam actress Shanthi Mayadevi joins the cast of Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo

Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is releasing on October 19.

Shanthi Mayadevi is best known for her role as lawyer Renuka in the 2021 Malayalam criminal thriller film Drishyam 2.

The hype about Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo hasn’t stopped on social media, with fans expressing their excitement for the Tamil superstar’s next big project. The film, billed as a gangster thriller, is being directed by blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars several big names. After a rigorous schedule in Kashmir in March, the filming is currently underway in Chennai. With a new schedule of Leo starting this week, it is now confirmed that leading Malayalam actress Shanthi Mayadevi has joined the cast of the Vijay-starrer, which will hit the theaters on October 19.

On Sunday, Shanthi Mayadevi, best known for her role as lawyer Renuka in the 2021 Malayalam criminal thriller film Drishyam 2: The Resumption, announced her decision to join Leo. The actress revealed on her Instagram handle that she is now starring in the Vijay-starrer produced by SS Lalit Kumar’s Seven Screen Studios by posting a picture of herself along with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Her post read, “On the sets of Leo.”

Shanthi is also a part of Mohanlal’s upcoming Malayalam film Ram: Part 1 in which she plays a lawyer by profession and lives in Ernakulam, Kerala with her husband Shiju Rajasekharan and their young daughter.

Trisha, who has previously worked with Vijay in the films Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006) and Kuruvi (2008), leads the cast of Leo. there are stars in the movie Bollywood Actor Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist, with music by Anirudh Ravichander, as well as Arjun, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas and others. Leo is slated to release ahead of the Ayudha Puja holiday in October and the week-long break will undoubtedly help the filmmakers to pull people to the theatres.
