While some argue that doing a good job on camera defeats the purpose, Kaushik points out that it is a useful tool to make people aware.

There has been a long-standing debate about whether or not the good work you do should be captured on camera. While many would comment on doing this defeating the purpose of the camera, this man is setting the record straight as to why he did it. Pawan Kaushik captured the moment when he met an elderly lady on the roadside where she was selling some peas. He decided to buy all the green vegetables she was selling and asked her to rest. Kaushik wrote, “One day I met Ammaji. Selling peas by the side of the road. I decided to buy all the peas without bargaining and told him to rest. Helping others is a wonderful feeling. Some accept it and some still question it.” He also tagged RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka in the tweet.

The entrepreneur, known for sharing his thoughts on the microblogging platform, replied to the tweet. “If you do well, never catch it on camera – my advice,” he wrote.

To this Pawan Kaushik replied, “Sir, I set up some social projects: ‘Khushi’ on the care of children – their nutrition, health and education; ‘Sakhi’ on economic empowerment of rural and tribal women, ‘Be Safe Zindagi’ on road and industrial safety. The aim was to create awareness among people and support corporates, governments and NGOs. It was useful to make people aware that I walk the same path myself first.

Only Harsh Goenka cannot say anything about this incident. A Twitter user wrote, ‘No work, in front of the camera, is a good job. Duration.”

“You bought one day. The next day will be normal for them. While some life as it comes, some look for a ‘good samaritan’ like you to buy whole peas the next day too,” wrote another user.

Turns out, it’s not always a bad idea to capture good deeds on camera. After all, this is where such heartwarming moments reach social media users. Two fishermen rescued an adult dugong that had become entangled in their fishing net, and returned it safely to the sea, in the city of Manthiripattinam in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) Supriya Sahu shared a video of the rescue mission, praising the kind action of the fishermen.

Fishermen can be seen gently pushing the endangered mammal back into the sea. The IAS officer appreciated their conservation efforts and announced that the government would reward them. He tweeted, “Salute to the fishermen at Manthiripattinam in Thanjavur who rescued an adult dugong and with great care and kindness released it back into the sea. Best example of local community playing a vital role in conservation. We reward these noble people.” do.”
