Man killed for iPhone with delivery agent’s body caught on CCTV

Police said that the accused had also bought petrol to burn the victim’s body.

A 20-year-old man in Karnataka, who ordered an iPhone online, allegedly killed the delivery agent as he was unable to pay for it.

Hemant Dutt stabbed EKart delivery agent Hemant Naik multiple times at his home in Hassan district on February 7, leading to his death.

eCart is a subsidiary of e-commerce platform Flipkart.

According to the probe, Dutt kept the victim’s body in a gunny bag at his home for three days before burning it near a railway track. Police said that he had also bought petrol to burn the body and destroy evidence.

The police started the investigation after the victim’s brother Manju Naik lodged a missing report.

Dutt was caught on CCTV cameras riding a two-wheeler with the body towards the railway track. Two days ago also he was seen buying petrol in a bottle from a petrol pump.
