Anuj Sharma killed Aunt Saroj on December 11 at his Jaipur home.
Jaipur/New Delhi:
A 32-year-old man killed his aunt, chopped her body into 10 pieces and later dumped it in a remote area in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.
He said that Anuj Sharma had killed his 64-year-old aunt at their Jaipur home on December 11 after she stopped him from going to Delhi for an event.
Anuj lived in Jaipur’s Vidyadhar Nagar with his father, sister and his aunt Saroj, who was staying with him after her husband’s death. Arun’s mother passed away last year due to COVID-19.
On December 11, Arun and Saroj were alone at home as his father and sister had gone to Indore. Arun wanted to go to Delhi, but Saroj stopped him, leading to an argument. Police said that in a fit of rage, he hit her on the head with a hammer while she was making tea.
He then cut her body into 10 pieces with a marble cutter and dumped them in a remote area along the Jaipur-Sikar highway.
Anuj had kept the body parts in a bucket and a suitcase, officials said, adding that he later lodged a missing complaint and started searching for her along with other relatives to mislead the police.
During investigation, the police found that his statements were misleading, following which his movements were put under surveillance. In the CCTV footage, he is seen leaving his house carrying a suitcase and a bucket.
Police said that upon protest, he confessed to killing his aunt by hitting her on the head with a hammer.
“The killer is intelligent and educated. He appears to be psychopathic. Police suspected him as he had filed a missing complaint, but the CCTV footage did not show the aunt leaving the house, in fact, the CCTV footage showed her Was shown carrying buckets and suitcases.” Home quarantined,” said Anand Srivastava, Commissioner of Police, Jaipur.
“We also found blood stains in the kitchen,” Srivastava said.
Police said the man showed no remorse for brutally killing his 64-year-old widowed aunt and chopping her body into 10 pieces. A case of murder and destruction of evidence has been registered against Anuj.
