Noida: A resident of Noida has been admitted to the hospital after he was shot during a clash over bursting of firecrackers in Noida. Diwaliofficials said on Friday.
The person who opened fire in connection with the incident in Garhi on Thursday night has been arrested. Chaukhandi Village, under Phase 3 Police Station Seema, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Harish Chander said.
“There was a clash between two parties in the village as one asked the other not to burst firecrackers outside his shop. First they got into a heated argument, then got into a physical fight after which a man took out his licensed pistol and opened fire, injuring his relative,” the officer said.
“The accused who opened fire has been arrested. The licensed pistol has been confiscated and the injured is undergoing treatment at a hospital,” the DCP said.
Police said an FIR has been registered at Phase III police station and further legal action is being taken.
