Manchester United told the hike was needed due to the high cost of staging matches
Premier League clubs announced on Monday that Manchester United have raised adult season ticket prices by five per cent for next season after holding them back for 11 seasons.
United said the increase is due to the high cost of staging matches, which have risen by 40% in the last five years and 11% in the last 12 months.

“…a modest increase in price for the 2023/24 season is necessary to enable the club to operate on a permanent basis,” the club said in a statement.
“We have kept the price increase well below the current rate of inflation … Ticket prices at Old Trafford – along with match day food and drink prices – will remain the cheapest in the Premier League.”
The club stated that they would keep season ticket prices stable for under-16s and youth, as well as offering a 50% discount for season ticket holders aged 65 and over.
