Punjab School education The Board (PSEB) declared the class 8th board exam results on Thursday. While 98.25 per cent students who took the exam managed to clear it, Manpreet Singh emerged as the topper. The boy, a resident of Gumti village in Barnala district, scored 600 out of 600 in his class 8 board exam. Manpreet studies in the government middle school of his village.
Manpreet has her own dreams at a young age. He wants to become an IAS officer and work for the betterment of the needy. Her mother is the sole breadwinner in the family and does tailoring work to meet the needs of the family. After the death of Manpreet’s father, he took over the reins of the family and is proud of his son for this great achievement. Talking to The Tribune, Manpreet’s mother Kiranjit Kaur said, “Manpreet is very hardworking. He wants to become an IAS officer and help the needy.”

Not only this, the little boy is also very happy with this big victory. Thanking his teachers, Manpreet told the news portal, “My teachers helped me a lot. Whenever I face any problem, they are always ready to help me.”
Apart from Manpreet, other toppers of PSEB are also skyrocketing. Himani Sethi, who secured second position in class 8 board examination, is a student of SAV Jain Day Boarding School in Hoshiarpur. He secured 596 marks out of 600 in PSEB exam.
The third position is held by Karmanpreet Kaur of Amber Public Senior Secondary School and Navan Tanel of Amritsar district with 596 marks. While all the three students have the same marks, Himani is awarded the second position because of her age. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Himani said that she never took private tuitions and passed the exams by studying herself. At the same time, Karmanpreet, who belongs to a farmer family, wants to become a lawyer.
Talking about the overall result, this time 98.25 percent students have passed the board exam. Like last time, the ratio of girls passing the exam is more than that of boys. While the average pass percentage of girls stood at 98.70 per cent, 97.86 per cent boys passed the class 8 examination.
