Maruti Suzuki cars coming to India: from Baleno Cross to new Swift – Times of India

Maruti Suzuki India launched several cars and SUVs this year and for the year 2023, the company has some big plans for the Indian market. The company recently launched the Grand Vitara SUV and the company is planning to expand its SUV portfolio with a range of new models. Here are the top 3 upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars in India in 2023.
1. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 Door

The SUV will retain most of the styling elements from the three-door variant. The five-door version gets a five-twin-spoke alloy wheel design, a larger bumper with honeycomb mesh pattern, fog lamps at both ends and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Talking about the interiors, the cabin layout of the SUV is expected to remain the same but the Jimny may get a bigger touchscreen system with connected car tech. The feature list will include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, steering-mounted controls and many more.
Mechanically, the Maruti Jimny is expected to retain the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine that powers the newly launched Grand Vitara and Brezza as well. This engine generates 100 bhp power and 130 Nm torque.
Globally, Jimny is offered the 4X4 System which also comes with a low-range transfer case. In India, we can expect the same 4×4 system to be offered with the 5-door version.
We expect Maruti to price the five-door Jimny starting at Rs.8 lakh and when launched, the Jimny will rival the Mahindra Thar and the Force Gurkha.
2. Maruti Baleno Cross
Maruti Suzuki India launched the updated Baleno in the Indian market earlier this year. And now the company is all set to launch baleno cross in the year 2023.
The Baleno Cross was recently spied testing on the Indian roads. The vehicle has a distinctive sloping roof with a slightly more straight front fascia and higher ground clearance.
The front grille looks huge and wide and it also sports split headlamps with lower-set main headlights and streaks of daytime LEDs above them.

The test mule also gets black alloy wheels which are probably 16-in. Square-off wheel arches and dark body cladding can also be seen. At the rear, key highlights include a raked windshield, chunky bumper and a boot-lid integrated spoiler.
The Cross also wears Baleno roof rails that give it an SUV stance and is also expected to come with front and rear skid plates and body cladding all around.
Talking about the powertrain, the Baleno Cross is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated K12C DualJet petrol engine from the Baleno. This engine produces 90 bhp power and 113 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT.
It is also expected that Maruti may bring back the turbocharged 1.0-litre, 3-cil, petrol engine that was available in the Baleno RS.
The Baleno Cross is said to make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and when launched, it will compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Citroen C3.
3. 2023 Maruti Suzuki Swift
Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the Indian market for almost 15 years. The updated Swift was launched in the Indian market in 2018 and is now getting a major facelift.
The 2023 Swift was recently tested in Europe. The all-new model of the hatchback is likely to make its global debut by the end of 2022 and its India launch may take place in early 2023.

The 2023 Swift will feature sleek headlamps with new LED elements, an all-new front grille, updated bumpers with wider and lower air intakes. The fog lamp assembly will get new C-shaped air splitters. Some of its other design highlights will include larger, dual-tone alloy wheels, new body panels, blacked-out pillars and a spoiler.
Rumor suggests that the new 2023 Maruti Swift In European markets, 1.2L K12N with DualJet petrol engine may get mild hybrid technology, but getting hybrid technology in India is highly doubtful.
