Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV to be offered in Standard and Intelligent Electric Hybrid trims: Difference explained – Times of India

maruti suzuki It has recently been confirmed that its upcoming new mid-size SUV will be called ‘Grand Vitara’, and has already started pre-bookings for the car ahead of its official launch on July 20. Now, on the official NEXA website it has been revealed that grand vitara Will be offered in two trim levels – Standard and intelligent electric hybrid,
But what exactly is the difference between the two? As of now, Maruti Suzuki has remained silent on details about the Grand Vitara, however, it is no secret that the new Maruti SUV will have a lot going for it with the recently revealed Toyota Urban Cruiser header.
This confirms the fact that the biggest difference between the standard and Intelligent Electric Hybrid versions of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Will have powertrain. Powering the standard Grand Vitara will be a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 102 PS of mild-hybrid technology. This engine will be offered with a 5-speed MT as well as an optional 6-speed AT. The MT variant is also expected to be offered with Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel drive setup as an option.
On the other hand, the Intelligent Electric Hybrid variant of the Grand Vitara will be offered with a 1.5-litre three-cylinder NA petrol engine with Strong-Hybrid technology, producing a total of 116 PS. This engine will only be available with a single-speed e-CVT automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels as standard.
Also, the standard variant of the Grand Vitara will definitely be cheaper than the Intelligent Electric Hybrid model. However, one can expect to get better fuel economy with the stronger-hybrid variant.
