Featuring a distinctive Maserati silhouette and long bonnet, the upcoming Gran Turismo Folgor EV sloping roofline, LED illuminated triple vents and folgor Badging on the front fender.
The electric sports car gets a revised front grille and rear diffuser without exhaust. It is also equipped with unique aero wheels to ride on. According to various media reports, inside, the GranTurismo Folgore EV gets a steering wheel that houses the drive mode selector and has a built in start/stop button.
Maserati Granturismo Folgor EV
Maserati is offering this super sports car with default driving modes – GT Mode and Max Range Mode. The former limits power to 80%, while the latter limits top speed to 130 kmph.
The new Maserati Gran Turismo Folgor Electric Coupe uses the 800V architecture and is developed with technical solutions derived from Formula E. Mechanically, the new GranTurismo Folgor EV uses three 300 kW (402 hp) electric motors, one of which is mounted at the front. At the wheel and two rear axles, torque vectoring allows. Overall, these motors produce a maximum power of over 1,200 hp and a maximum torque of 1,350 Nm.
Maserati says that the battery pack with a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh (83 kWh usable) can produce around 751hp of power and 996Nm of torque on all four wheels. The GranTurismo Folgore EV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 320 kmph, which is the same as the GranTurismo Trofeo.
In terms of range, Maserati estimates that the battery-powered GranTurismo Folgore WLTP will cover a range of 450 km on cycle.
The manufacturer hasn’t revealed the interior images yet, but says that the Gran Turismo Folgor will be equipped with premium features like Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system, a digital clock, Sonus Faber 3D sound system and more.
The new Maserati Super sports car will be manufactured at the Mirafiori production facility in Turin and deliveries are expected to begin in July 2023. The Maserati Gran Turismo Folgor EV is expected to start at $170,000 in the US market.
